Promoting Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) in Sri Lanka through facilitating access to information- Report of LCI database development - Sri Lanka
Under the above mentioned project, a LCI survey has been conducted to develop a LCI database for agri food sector(Rice, Dairy and Tea) Sri Lanka . The Report of LCI database developemnt is attached herewith. We are requesting your expert comments on this report for further improvements.
Thank you very much for reveiwing and commenting on LCI data collection formats.Definetely we will discuss these comments with our consultants to develop a proper data collection formats.Highly appriciate your support and further guidance on this regard.
I uploaded these inventory tables here because there is a problem of uploading these into ASK AN EXPERT FORUM.
Actually, I have some issues regarding these inventory tables. Since these inventory tables are too much comprehensive it is difficult to get all the information from the respective industries. Most of the data is not available with the industries. As this project is regarding establishment of national inventory database, I want know what are the specific data we should collect when establishing LCI database. So then we can omit the irrelevant parts and finalize these inventory tables.
Consumer Information Programme for Sustainable Consumption and Production
The Consumer Information Programme for Sustainable Consumption and Production (CI-sCP) serves as a global platform to engage consumers in sustainable consumption through the provision of quality information. The CI-SCP programme is working on a project with the National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC SL) Sri Lanka to increase accessibility to sustainability information.
The objective of the project is to establish a green product certification scheme for selected products through developing a Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) Database. The overall goal is to support economic and sustainable development in the agri food sector businesses in the country. Accordingly, NCPCSL has started the national scale survey on LCI data collection to develop the databases for tea, rice and dairy industries in Sri Lanka.
Attached below are three questionnaires/data collection sheets (tea, dairy, rice) for the survey on LCI database development. We would like to receive the following feedback on these questionnaires:
1. Are the questionnaires generally suitable for the stated purposes?
2. What are the specific questions and data needs for LCI data base development?
3. What are areas that we can be omitted from the questionnaires (if not necessary for LCI database)?
